The Goa road accident victims trust was started by the Goan philanthropist Mr. Jerome Mendes and has been helping poor road accident victims for the past 10 years. The story goes,that one day Mr. Jerome and his friend,a priest from Velim who had come to say a Mass in Navelim and after the Mass he was proceeding back to Velim and a Bus came and killed him on his scooter. There were also three more accidents in the same week and it really sadened Jerome. It was at that time that he decided to form a Road Accident Victims Trust and any money collected for this Trust goes into a separate account and it is sent to the Income Tax Office though the trust Accountants in Goa.

Recently the trust which includes Dr.Wilfred DSouza as one of the Trustees was responsible to to show the Prince Jacob's first show Padri and the proceeds went to the Trust.This show was attended by Keith Vaz (Goan UK MP) and has promised an Ambulance.
We are having so many accidents in Goa because we do not have proper road signs.
and this is where The Goa road accident victims trust has come in and been responsible to put up trafffic signs all accross Goa.
