Goa NewsDubai:The feast of Saint Francis Xavier was celebrated on Thursday with traditional fervour even as thousands of faithful flocked Saint Mary's Church Dubai to partake in the Eucharistic celebrations. The main celebrant of the solemn High Mass was our priest from Goa , Rev Mathew Rodrigues flanked by Our Spiritual Director, Rev Fr. Freddy and Rev Fr. Rodson.

In his preaching, Rev Mathew Rodrigues said, “We are accustomed to various languages however when St Francis Xavier embarked in Goa there were no languages, however, he still touched the lives of the people with his gestures and by leading a life of self-example. Further, he also spoke on the zeal of St Francis Xavier.

The theme for this year’s celebration was “Sam Fransiskachea Vixvaxiponnache dekhin Jezu-Noketra vori Zhogzhogum-ia”.Elaborating on this year’s theme, Rev Mathew Rodrigues highlighted on the importance of family prayer. He said that a good ambience in prayer life of the youth will prevent them from falling prey to vices.

People from all over Dubai & other emirates took part in the celebrations and at the end had some good taste of goan sorpotel and some cool goan music. Those who were lucky had a chance to win some great lucky dip prizes. Thanks to all who contributed to make this happen.
