Dubai:The Archbishop of Goa & Daman His Grace Filipe Neri Ferrao will be on visit to the United Arab Emirates from 10th Oct.This will be his first visit to the country.The UAE which hosts a large population of Goan expatraites has lined up a felicitation and cultural programme at St.Marys Church Dubai in his honour.On the day of his arrival,he is scheduled to attend the All Goa inter-Village Football tournament at the Irani Stadium in Dubai.The following day on 11th Oct,his grace will lead the Solemn High mass in Konkani at St. Mary’s Church at 8.30 pm.The rest of the programe is as follows.

And global Indians from football crazy UK are set to Bend it like Beckham in Goa.Players from Leicester City Football Club, which tops the Football League One in UK, will visit Goa later this month as a part of an initiative being spearheaded by the British High Commissioner in India Richard Stagg, LCFC executive chairman Milan Mandaric and Leicester East MP Keith Vaz, who is of Indian origin. Mr Vaz’s constituency has a 49.1% of population of people of Indian origin. It also has a large population of Gujaratis.
Panaji: Goa Home Minister, Ravi Naik on Fridaythreatened to sue a British daily for linking his son's involvement in the murder of two British nationals including that of Scarlett Keeling."This (report) is baseless. Someone sitting in UK is trying to target me, maybe with ulterior motives," Naik told PTI.Naik was responding to a report published in British newspaper Daily Mail, which alleged that Naik's son, Roy Naik was involved in the high profile Scarlett murder case.
